We are pleased to announce that Las Vegas’ own OUR TOWN RECORDS will launch its summer smorgasbord of great music from a different global perspective: Some of the greatest songs from the vaults of legendary Motown (Universal), Warner Bro.’s, Gamble and Huff (Philadelphia International Records), and countless other hugely-successful record companies will be discovered and rediscovered by a new generation of aficionados and loyal baby-boomers craving a steady diet of golden classics and a blend of brand-new tracks. Some of the songs to be streamed are The Intruders “Together,” Little Anthony and the Imperials’ “I’m On The Outside Looking In, and Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “Give a Little Love.” Founder Ed Contreras is also more than anxious to initiate the Vegas filmworks division of the international organization. This effort is designed to provide education and application — including on-the-job-training — for those who wish to pursue careers in videography, scriptwriting, vocal coaching, and behind-the-camera careers. For 2020 and beyond, an endless catalog of music is set to be released and will excite your musical taste buds endlessly. Under the direction of Our Town Records, the first book is in the plans for not later than 2021. At the release of the book, efforts to launch the story from the silver screen will get underway. This non-fiction publication will chronicle the enormous contributions of Southern California recording artists such as Tierra, El Chicano, and other Latin-flavored artists to the then preeminent R&B, pop, country, and rock recording cultures. See how these artists interpreted the music they grew up listening to and their own creations. Plans are for the book available in English and Spanish, and it will be available in hard-copy (paperback) and digitally. Keep your ears and eyes wide open for more updates.
